Q. Is it true Insurance will pay for a repair even if I carry a deductible?

Q. Does Windshield World work with my Insurance Company?
A. Yes. Windshield World will work with all insurance companies We also have a working relationship with all of the third party "networks" (many insurers use national networks to handle claim & invoice processing). However since many of the networks are owned by competing auto glass companies, it may be necessary for you to request Windshield World, and you do have that right. Vermont has had in place since the early 90's legislation giving you the right to choose your provider.
Q. How do I begin the process of making an auto glass claim?
A. The claims procedure varies with each insurer. Have available your policy information and our customer service representatives can help you thru the claims process, sometimes we can do all of the work for you.
Q. What types of Auto Glass damage are covered by insurance?
A. Auto glass damage resulting from road hazards and vandalism are covered by the comprehensive portion. Insurance covers all the glass in your vehicle, not just the windshield.
Q. Can the work be done at my home or work?
A. Most windshield work can be done at your location, but it is "always" weather dependent unless you have a garage. There can be no precipitation during installation and temperature should be above 50 degrees.
Q. Can my vehicle be driven immediately after the installation?
No - Your vehicle cannot be driven until the urethane has cured (hardened) enough to be safe. Generally, your vehicle can be driven one hour after the windshield has been installed. Your installer can tell you when it is safe to drive.
Q. What is the warranty for the replacement?
A. The warranty on the glass is for 90 days against any physical defects. If you were to have any installation problems, the warranty is for the life you own the vehicle.
Q. What about my inspection sticker?
A. We are licensed by the state as a replacement station. This means we will replace your valid sticker with a new one with the same color and number.
Q. Can I stop stone chip damage with super glue or nail polish?
A. No - these products will not keep the damage from spreading. Also the presence of either substance will prevent a successful repair.
Q. Will the damage disappear after the repair is finished?
A. No, there will usually be some scarring from the damage. The repair should improve the appearance but you should expect to see where it was.
Q. How long will the repair take?
A. A stone chip repair will take 20 to 40 minutes.
Q. Is the repair covered by a warranty?
A. The stone chip repair is warranteed for as long as you own your vehicle. If the damage spreads beyond the repair, or if the damage does not pass inspection the cost of the repair will be applied to the cost of a replacement.
